A shipping company with the wind for an engine.
Kaap Kargo was founded in Amsterdam in 2022. We do not grow, roast or sell anything. We carry other people's cargo across the Atlantic, and we do it with sail as the primary source of power.

Take the fossil fuel out of the journey.
Sustainable producers spend years getting their farming right, and then hand the result to a supply chain that burns heavy fuel oil across an ocean. We exist to close that gap: to offer growers, roasters and brands a way to move goods that matches the standards they already hold themselves to.
Our mission is to carry cargo across the Atlantic with wind as the engine, and to push the fuel out of the crossing, voyage by voyage, until there is none left to remove. Solar on deck, a shaft generator, smarter routing: each one is measured in the same currency, fuel not burned. The engine that remains aboard is necessary for a working ship, for harbour manoeuvres and for safety at sea.

A fleet, and a shipping industry worth trusting.
We want sail freight to stop being a curiosity and start being a choice a serious business can make. That means more than one ship: a fleet of sailing cargo vessels on regular Atlantic routes, with the reliability, insurance and paperwork any shipper expects from a carrier.
It also means a shipping culture worth working in, a trade where seafarers are properly paid and properly trained, where the next generation learns the craft aboard rather than only in a classroom, and where the people who grew the cargo are treated as partners in the voyage rather than the cheapest link in the chain.
