Privacy statement
Last updated 25 August 2026
This website collects nothing about you while you read it. There are no cookies, no visitor statistics and nothing is sent to advertising networks. We receive information only when you fill in a form and send it yourself. Below is exactly what happens then.
Who is responsible
Kaap Kargo B.V., Ms. van Riemsdijkweg 310, 1033 RD Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 85330361. For anything to do with your data, write to info@kaapkargo.com.
What we receive
There are two forms on this site. You decide what you put in them.
- →Cargo form: your name, your email address, and optionally your company, the kind of cargo and your message.
- →Crew form: your name, your email address, and optionally the position you are applying for, the voyage or period, your sea time and certificates, and your message.
What we use it for
Only to read your message and answer it. We do not use your details to approach you unasked, we build no profile from them, and we do not pass them on or sell them to anyone.
The legal basis is the performance of a contract or steps taken before entering one when you are talking to us about cargo or a berth, and our legitimate interest in being able to answer messages when you are not.
Who else sees it
Your message is delivered as email through Postmark, a sending service run by ActiveCampaign in the United States. Postmark keeps sent messages in its own archive for a limited period so that delivery problems can be traced. There is a data processing agreement with Postmark, and the transfer to the United States relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
The website itself runs on Railway. Beyond that there is nobody: no analytics service, no advertising network, no social media, and the typefaces are served from our own server rather than from Google.
How long we keep it
Your message stays in our mailbox for as long as the conversation runs, and afterwards for as long as we need it, for instance if a booking or a place aboard comes out of it. If nothing comes of it, we clear it out. If you ask us to delete your details, we do.
What we do not do
- →No cookies, and therefore no cookie banner, because there is nothing to choose.
- →No visitor statistics and no trackers.
- →No selling or passing on to third parties for their own purposes.
- →No automated decisions about you.
Against spam
To stop the forms being flooded with advertising, the server briefly counts how many messages arrive from the same internet address. That happens in working memory only and clears itself within ten minutes. Your IP address is not stored, not logged and not sent on with your message.
Your rights
You may ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to our use of it. Write to info@kaapkargo.com and we will sort it out. If you disagree with how we handle it, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
